Practice Areas
Residential/Commercial Real Estate:
Sallé Law Firm prides itself on working with Realtors and lenders to make the closing process as smooth as possible for all parties involved. In order to accommodate our clients in the most efficient manner, Sallé Law Firm provides each Realtor and lender the ability to login to our Real Estate Closing Manager at any time to obtain status reports on closings. We believe in working with our clients in making the process as simple as possible and in explaining closing documents in plain, everyday English. At the same time, the Firm does not simplify the closing process at the expense of thoroughness. Please review the Real Estate Guidance page for more details concerning the typical closing process.
Estate Planning:
The estate planning process involves carefully listening to our clients’ goals and then legally and efficiently carrying out their wishes with the least possible negative tax consequences. In general, the process involves two (2) client meetings. The attorney meets with the client for an initial consultation. During this initial consultation, the attorney will gather information from the client and then advise the client based on the client’s desires, estate size, and other relevant factors. The attorney will then make suggestions to the client as to the estate planning documents that may be advisable. Estate planning documents that may be drafted (depending on the unique needs of each client) may include wills, revocable trusts, irrevocable trusts, family limited partnerships, living wills, durable powers of attorney, health care powers of attorney, and other documents. The firm then drafts the appropriate documents and meets with the client a second time to execute the documents and answer any questions the client may have.
Corporate:
In today’s litigious society, clients often request assistance in limiting personal exposure to potential lawsuits. Depending on the client’s situation, formation of an entity may be advisable. We will help determine whether the formation of an entity is advisable, and, if so, which type of entity, (C corporation, S corporation, a limited liability company (LLC), a limited partnership or some other entity). We will discuss the legal and tax ramifications of the appropriate entities with the client. The firm files the appropriate documents with the state and/or Internal Revenue Service to form the entity, apply for federal taxpayer identification numbers, and make any applicable tax elections. We will draw up internal documents for the new entity such as organizational minutes, bylaws, operating agreements and/or shareholder agreements. The firm can also help with the sale or purchase of business entity assets or stock.
We believe it is better to do limited things well than to do everything with mediocrity. Thus, the firm does not practice in other areas of law, such as domestic relations, criminal law, litigation, or intellectual property. However, the firm is willing and ready to help place its clients in touch with other knowledgeable and competent professionals in any of these areas.
